The 2016 Edmonton Airport Annual Report is hot off the press, and it features stunning illustrations from French artist Chez Gertrud. I collaborated with her to create six illustrations with a clever twist in the imagery. In this one, the flags of EIA's major destinations are depicted as clothing on travelers. And just for fun we limited the colour palette to only two colours - red and blue. Voilà.
Art on the Block is the AGA's annual art auction, raising funds for important programs at the gallery. But canapes, music and the attendance of the swishiest Edmontonian's, turn this night into a battle for the most coveted piece of art. This year's theme 'party with purpose' took that to a whole new level. Typographic headline posters, installation art and social media animations promoted the art of competition and invited guests to focus on the prize.
I had some fun doing a series of illustrations for Anthology again this year. This is an illustration based on one of the amazing women - The Bishop - who will be a book at the 2nd Annual Human Library.
I'm really proud to be part of the DDB team I work with. We were awarded 31 awards (15 Gold, 16 Silver) at this year's ACE Awards. The posters I created for Anthology were awarded an ACE award for Advertising Illustration, Not for Profit Print and recognized for Art Direction. Themed Summer Melt, the illustrations depict summer treats melting under the hot sun.
Some dreamy vocals on repeat lately. All three albums have this beautiful silence in the visuals.
